Specific Solutions For YOUR Mobility Challenges
Dear Friend,
Welcome to Mobility By Design
Are you confused by all of the different options out there for folks with mobility challenges? Are you overwhelmed by the conflicting information you see and hear from friends, TV commercials, and even the internet? Do you want to be mobile and independent, but are afraid you might make a wrong decision?
We’d love to give you the benefit of our decades of experience as health care providers and medical equipment specialists. We’ve "been down your road" and know what questions to ask to understand your specific situation.
We view ourselves as consultants to give you the power, the comforts, safety, and mobility you desire. Feel free to call us or stop by for professional, personal attention.
General Principles
Ready to go over some general principles that apply to whatever your mobility challenge may happen to be? Good. Let’s begin.
MOBILITY CHALLENGES affect all segments of our society: young or old; rich or poor; all skin colors; all ethnic groups; the whole gamut of religious affiliations and people who are agnostic or atheists. It doesn’t mater. And you know what? Chances are it isn’t your fault.
Perhaps you were born with cerebral palsy or were injured as a child. Maybe arthritis grabbed you as a youngster or when you were older.
You may have experienced a severe fall, motor vehicle injury, or are feeling the effects from your ‘glory days’ as a sports enthusiast. Maybe chronic pain in your back, feet or legs is really slowing you down.
Chances are, like most of us, you’ve gained a few pounds since high school and your heart and lungs don’t have the capacity they used to. An unfortunate disease process may have decided to attach itself to you. Whether multiple scoliosis, Parkinson’s disease, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, rheumatoid arthritis or asthma.
None of us asked to be given these crosses to bear. Sure. Some of us could have made better choices along the way. But you can't change the past. Let’s concentrate on making the present and future as bright and mobile as possible.
Ready? Let's go forward.
